| Student preparation for lecture is inherently poor. We believe that when students have reviewed the material in the text book before attending the lecture the potential for learning is significantly enhanced. To encourage student preparation we have developed a computer-based preparation program for our Elementary Physics course. The questions are scripted in Perl and uses CGI to manage a score database. In this talk we will present a sample of the program and discuss its use by the lecture-based and Distance Learning courses offered by the University of Minnesota's Crookston and Twin-Cities campuses. |
